ALAMANCE COUNTY, 2020

Alamance County, 2020 is an observational documentary film chronicling a North Carolina community through one of the most turbulent years in modern American history.

Filmed from New Year's Eve 2019 through the first moments of 2021, the film follows residents from across the political and social spectrum as they confront the pandemic, reckon with questions of race and history, and navigate a deeply consequential election season. The result is a sweeping portrait of a community—and a country—at a crossroads.

ONE COUNTY, ONE YEAR

What began as an attempt by filmmakers Michael Greene and Leslie Raymond to capture a year in the life of a single county grew into an eight-hour portrait of a community living through extraordinary times. Presented in chapters that can be experienced individually or as a whole, the film reflects the complexity, diversity, and rhythms of everyday life.

Alamance County, 2020 is currently in post-production and is anticipated to premiere in Fall 2026.
